About JACE
Just About Children’s Education
was founded by Ericka “MCPeaches” King out of passion and desire not to see children with disabilities or any child for any reason be omitted, alienated or denied from activities their peers are participants. Parent to a child with a disability, Ericka’s passion prompt her not only to voice her concern but to take action. Forming outings and activities for her own children, it became apparent that others who were liked minded would appreciate an invite as well, thus forming J.A.C.E, the non-profit organization where children with disabilities would participate in bowling, swimming, sports and educational programs where omission was not an option to any child.
What We Do
We provide activities in the community where all children can participate and learn from each other regardless of their abilities. Our programs foster learning, promote acceptance, provide mentor training, and give children a sense of belonging.
Our services
J.A.C.E. Kids
This program builds social skills through planned activities. Children play games and socialize with their peers and mentors in an environment that foster acceptance and belonging.
Mentoring & Leadership
All children with or without disabilities can train to become mentors.The Mentor training program centers around the “children teaching children” model and is meant to educate and prepare children.
Buddy Bowling
Buddy bowling provides children with the opportunity to learn the rules and skills of bowling and have the opportunity to socialize with their mentors, sibling and friends. The bowling will be open to children with and without disabilities.
Reading Program
Geared towards children in K-5 who are struggling in reading or have an IEP. Students will receive support with reading strategies based on their current reading abilities. JACE provides and online BOOKSHELF with a variety of titles age appropriate to encourage reading at any time. In the community JACE accepts new books for children as donations.
Introduction to Sports
Introduction to Sports introduces children to sports at an early age to prepare them socially, emotionally and physically for team sports.
